Today I got to witness the state of the city address, where the mayor address the city and talks about what he will be working on in the coming year, and reflects on the past year. The state of the city address is alot like the State of the Union address that the president makes.
Since the Chargers are a hot topic this past week, this address was very interesting to see the mayor's response. After the address, I even had the chance to shake hands with the mayor! In addition to the state of the city address, I just finished up onmy first project which was making a calendar for the nfastructure team, this calendar has all of the important local, events relating specifically to the infastructure team. Today was by far my favorite day of the internship because I've nver been to a formal event like this, what a wonderful day, oh what a wonderful day!

Today I got to witness the Mayor's news conference on the Chargers. It was very interesting because I got to see my first press conference. It was especially exciting because it was right before the Mayor's sate of the city address
I cannot wait for tomorrow! Today In witnessed a training exercise inside of the EOC< the EOC stands for emergency operations center, it is where if there ever was a disaster, members of different branches on the city would use this space to meet and work together to solve all of the problems that would arise.
It was incredible interesting to watch this training go on, because it gave me a sense of how hard the city works if there ever were to be any kind of attack or disaster. Today began with a series of meetings, the first being with the entire communications department, and second with the infastructure team. I learned a great deal tday, especially about the Associated Press, and midigation. After the meeting I helped finalize the communication department's calendar. The Calendar has all of the important dates that the communications department needs to be successful.
I can finally say that I'm starting to feel comfortable in my internship. I've been having a lot of fun inside city hall, and have been learning a great deal. Something that I've had to learn is how to be professional. At city hall, when emailing or talking to anyone, you must always present yourself as best as you can. That's probably the biggest lesson I've learned so far in this internship. Its going to be a great three weeks!
Day 2 was a success, I accompanied Bill to a meeting in Kearny Mesa about public outreach and education of the watershed and storm water groups around San Diego. Bill also met with a few reporters along the way, and was interviewed by them for various issues such as; storm water, potholes, and flooding. I also spent a great deal of time working on the office calendar. The calendar has all of the important events that the communications office covers.
Overall today was very successful, I'm starting to get more comfortable in this new working environment, all I have to do is take this one step at a time. The first day of internship kicked off very successfully! Today I shadowed Bill for the first half of the day. During this time we visited a reporter from KUSI who was in fashion valley covering all the flooding in the San Diego River. I watched Bill talk to the camera and interact with the reporter. The the half was spent in city hall in various meetings, and more press interviews. I learned alot today and can't wait for what the future holds.
Over winter break I had the opportunity to visit my new internship site,a dn meet with my mentor; Bill Harris. Bill is a communications expert with the city of San Diego, and has been a longtime friend of my mother. During my visit, I was given a tour of city hall, and we discussed what my internship will look like when it officially kicks off. Touring city hall was very interesting, and only made me more excited to start my internship.
Yesterday I made the decision to intern at the city's communications department instead of GameSync. I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to work with the city. The future is bright!
My first visit to GameSync was a huge success, we met with our mentor, Agragati, who showed us around. During our visit we got a taste of what it would be like as an intern at GameSync. I'm very excited for January and being an intern for GameSync.
